Kailee Pedersen is the author of the poetry chapbook Pastorale (Burnside Review) and the horror novel Sacrificial Animals (St. Martin's). A graduate of Columbia University with a B.A. in Classics, she was adopted from Nanning in 1996 and grew up in Nebraska. Her writing on LGBTQ+ and Asian American themes was awarded an Artist Fellowship by the Nebraska Arts Council in 2015. Her debut novel was named a "Best Horror Book of 2024" by The New York Times, Vulture, Esquire, Paste Magazine, and Barnes & Noble; a "Best Gothic Fiction of 2024" by CrimeReads; a "Best Book for Adults" by the New York Public Library; and a Best Horror finalist for the Libby Book Awards.
